What makes this better than a spray bottle?

While squirting cats with a spray bottle may seem effective, it tends to just confuse the cat and damage your bond. Cats need consistent consequences to learn. If your cat only gets sprayed when you are around to catch them, it teaches them that you are unsafe, and to get on that surface when you aren’t around. Counter Defense serves as your personal assistant; working to increase the percentage of times your cat will face the consequences of their actions and give you peace of mind.

What is early access?

Early access gives you a unique opportunity to be a part of the process. We want to ensure our product works as intended, and we can’t do that without you and your invaluable feedback! Signing up for early access means you have an opportunity to influence a product that will ideally make your life better. What is working well? What do you think would make it more effective? How is your cat reacting? Answering these types of questions helps us help you and other pet parents searching for a solution.
Are there other things I can do in addition to using Counter Defense?

Yes! Providing high spots for your cat like perches and cat trees gives your cat the opportunity to climb to a better vantage point, as is their instinct, without getting sprayed by Counter Defense. Your cat will learn that the counter is no fun, but their cat tree or perch is perfectly acceptable and safe. Bonus points if you reward your cat with treats or praise when they use their designated area.
Will this work on my dog?

No. Counter Defense is trained to search for cats only at this time. Unless your dog is looking more feline than canine, Counter Defense should pass them by.
